The article is a continuation of research devoted to the analysis of the methods and tools of central banks' communication with financial markets and the public as regards the financial stability function, published in NBP "Materials and Studies", No. 200/2006. This article aims to present the changes in central banks' transparency policy in 35 countries from different regions in years 2004-2006. The transparency changes have been examined on the basis of the synthetic transparency index, which helps to evaluate and compare the degree of central banks' transparency in their policy of supporting financial stability.
