The aim of the paper is to analyse some selected issues connected with the movements of interest on credit cards granted to individual persons acting in the (bank) credit card market in Poland. The identification of factors which influence the level of interest and its changes is the most important.
In the initial part of the paper a general overview of the interest on credit cards as a price component and a bank price policy element has been presented. Then external (banking environment) and internal factors, having impact on the credit card interest level, conditions and principles of changing it and ways of differentiating it. The present and future importance of the credit cards interest for bank marketing policy and consumer decisions in the credit cards market has been determined. In the final part of the paper the actual and potential (in the long-term perspective) impact of the so called anti-usurious act on the credit card interest imposed by the banks, and also on the further development of credit cards in Poland have been described.
