Impact of Selected Investment Protection Strategies on Profitability of Foreign Direct Investment in Developing Countries in 1990s.

The paper aims to present the influence of selected strategies adopted by foreign direct investors to protect the investments. 41 investment projects realised over the years 1990-2000 were analysed. The flow of foreign direct investment into developing countries increased substantially over the said period. FDI can reduce the gap between developed and developing countries. As foreign direct investment may at times bear substantial risk various strategies are employed to lower it.
