Maria Jerzak Wage Bargaining System in Poland and Selected EU Countries
In most European Union countries, the level of wages is determined by a process of social consultation. In Poland the wage bargaining system was introduced in 1995. Its task is to reconcile the interests of employers and employees by achieving mutual agreement between the partners. Thanks to the process, industrial peace is maintained while public interest is catered to.
The paper deals with the Polish wage bargaining system, especially with respect to the enterprise sector. It is compared with the systems of selected EU countries and assessed by the author.
