The article provides knowledge necessary to persons establishing and maintaining cooperation with local authority units in Poland, on different administrative levels. The author attempts to justify the importance and need of such knowledge for bankers in order to enhance and modify existing cooperation, and even in order to establish such cooperation. Directions and general practical measures of the process are presented. The article discusses also related crucial legal acts that may be helpful in establishing banks´ cooperation with local authority units.

The document shows, inter alia, that it is necessary to reorient banks towards so called active consulting related to the finance and even the economy of self-government units.
